The aim of the second semantic web workshop is to facilitate the discussion and presentation of research findings concerning the practical utilisation of semantic web technologies, with special interest in the semantic mapping and intelligent retrieval of information. The main application domains include but not restricted to:
* Web data mining * Caption and Content-based Image Retrieval * Geographical Information Systems
Participants’ presentations run over two days (26-27/09/2007), with each day concluding with discussion panels looking into theoretical and practical challenges that are preventing stronger adoption of semantic technologies in the above application areas.
